Divisional Series Goes the Distance, Mexico City Prevails
|
The Mexico City Aztecs are heading to the League Championship Series, having narrowly defeated the Havana Dolphins.
Mexico City edged Havana in the series 4-3, with a win at El Estadio Latinoamericano in the clinching game by a 3-1 margin.
Rupert Boele turned in a strong offensive performance for the Aztecs and got series MVP for his efforts.
"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a WBA Championship Series win."
It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Boele continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.
For the series, he hit .429 with a .467 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Mexico City Aztecs will play against the El Paso Thunderbirds in the next round. El Paso won their series against the Puerto Rico Coqui 4 games to 3. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 15th , 2144.
