Melbourne-Rio de Janeiro Trade: Eichele for Cvetkovic Monday, June 26th , 2147 The Melbourne Meteors and Rio de Janeiro Jaguars have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Melbourne will part with 21-year old minor league RF Stephen Eichele and a 13th round draft pick, while the Jaguars have dealt 33-year old RHP Preki Cvetkovic and 34-year old RHP Jasa Bogdanovic. "This one took a while to figure out," said Melbourne general manager Bob Meteors. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs." Rio de Janeiro will retain a portion of Cvetkovic's remaining contract. Rio de Janeiro will retain a portion of Bogdanovic's remaining contract. This year Cvetkovic has recorded a 2-4 mark. In 16 starts he has fanned 53 batters in 78.1 innings with a 4.25 ERA. |
