Liao Brings Home IBL Batter of Month Honor Friday, September 1st , 2147 When Pie-qi Liao stepped up to the plate in August he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Intercontinental Baseball League Batter of the Month award. The young Melbourne first baseman posted a .410 batting average with 5 home runs, 24 RBIs and scored 21 runs. Liao also worked pitchers for 7 walks to post a .459 on-base percentage. This season Liao has delivered 140 hits in 471 at-bats for a .297 average with 20 home runs. He is getting on base at a .343 clip and his totals also include 78 RBIs and 71 runs scored.
