Liu Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 25 Saturday, September 2nd , 2147 It just wasn't Guo-qing Liu's day. The Rome Generals took the 4-3 win today over the Oslo Voyageurs, but the Voyageurs mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 25-game hitting streak of Generals second baseman Guo-qing Liu. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Liu," Oslo manager Marq Ualler commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Generals have other hitters and they did their job today." Thus far this year Liu has hit .321 with 12 home runs and 43 RBIs. |
