Players Suspended in Aztecs-Thunderbirds Donnybrook Tuesday, October 3rd , 2147 Yesterday at Ballpark of Mexico City Fernando Canó and Oisín Raven got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Mexico City Aztecs and El Paso Thunderbirds. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Canó will have to sit out 4 while Raven would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. To date, Canó has collected 49 hits for a .251 average. He has posted 1 home run, scored 23 runs and driven in 29 runs. For the year Raven has a 14-8 record with a 4.07 ERA in 30 starts. |
