Great Stroke: Jiménez Gets 5 Hits Friday, April 19th , 2143 It was a sensational day at the plate for Brisbane Bolides center fielder Pedro Jiménez, but a tough one for the team, as the Bolides dropped the contest 5-4 to the Venice Legionnaires. Even with the loss, Jiménez was pure misery for the Venice pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-7 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Jiménez, who is the 22-year old center fielder . "Jiménez really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Legionnaires manager told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Pedro Jiménez hit a two-run triple in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, struck out in the 13th and singled in the 15th. In the 2143 season Jiménez is hitting .403 with 2 home runs. |
