Gros at His Best, Blanks Lille Friday, July 17th , 2133 Éric Gros of the Venice Legionnaires was on fire against the Lille Fleur-de-Lis at Field of the Legionnaires today. He shut them out 7-0 on 3 hits, collecting 13 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. "The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Gros said later. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that." In 1 starts this season Gros has compiled a 1-0 record and a 1.31 ERA. |
