i think we should get rid of this rule...im sure 90% of these are just accepting the demands of the players!
Speaking of postseason contracts ... most teams have a few players who are getting automatic contract renewals each season, and in some cases the teams no longer want those players. There's a period during the offseason in which we can release such players before their contracts get renewed, and we don't have to pay a penalty for dong so. I believe last year there were some complaints because that period passed by before some of the GMs realized it. So I'll suggest that this year, when we enter the "time to take out your trash" period, there should be some kind of prominent post that notifies everyone.(Yeah, I'm talking about you and your $550,000 salary, leftfielder Jeremias Valrio ...)
Why not just release them at the end of the regular season? There shouldn't be any kind of penalty, it should just pay off the remainder of the contract.
