Huck,

Here's the modified code that I used (parse range is 10-59, printed to an html file that should be renderable by a browser)

import re
from binascii import unhexlify
from gzip import GzipFile
from itertools import chain
from StringIO import StringIO

with open("ootpou.htm", "rb") as f:
    html = f.read().decode("utf-8")

hexlines = re.findall("<pre>(.*?)</pre>", html, flags=re.S)[2].splitlines()
hexdata = ''.join(chain.from_iterable(l[10:59].split() for l in hexlines))
outfile = open('decoded.html','w')
print >> outfile, GzipFile(fileobj=StringIO(unhexlify(hexdata))).read()
outfile.close()

Mhm. Yep. I know some of these words.

Season and Off-Season Threads / Re: 2107-08 Offseason Thread

There is a feature in the settings where you can play with how much different levels of players should expect in their deals. I don't know how much effect it actually has, but I guess that would be another idea to fix it.

Season and Off-Season Threads / Re: 2107-08 Offseason Thread
« on: May 03, 2017, 01:09:10 PM »
What about give up a draft pick to extend a star? If they end up above a certain WAR, then a certain rd draft pick would be lost.

This is just an example, not actual values

4 WAR and up - 1st rd
3 WAR - 2nd rd
2 WAR - 3rd rd

we could play with the values

Andy, something's out of synch with Cantinho.  I made him an offer on Day 1 of free agency, and have continued to make offers to him every day since then.  I've never withdrawn an offer.  I offered him $20 million a year last night.  If he went back to asking for $10 million, something is fouled up.  I've been offering him more than that for the past several sims.  (Not that he seems to care ...)

I had heard his wife didn't want to leave the country...

I was the one leading the offers for Cantinho at $19m. My hope was that everyone would withdraw their offers (which I believe they did) and then I withdrew mine and offered him at around $10m. It worked (he favored the offer) until we talked about it on the chat and people looked into it more.

General WBA Discussion / Florida - Year in Review
« on: April 14, 2017, 08:39:25 AM »
The Florida Hurricanes continued their long rebuild with another rough season finishing 64-92 and in the basement of the North American division. The 'Canes played inspired baseball throughout the first half of the season. On June 15, they were 33-33 and only 2.5 games back of the first place Stars but could not keep pace. However, there were many bright spots to look back on as they prepare for the 2108 season.

The Good
The Emergence of Jason Himes
After being selected 11th overall in 2106, Himes was fast-tracked to the big leagues and never looked back. With an ability to play all three infield spots, Himes played in 141 games posting a 4.0 WAR, .278/.382/.387 slash line, 30 doubles, and seven triples. At 22, Himes showed the league why the Hurricane front office is so high on his ability to play in their infield for years to come.

Pina Power Finally Shines
Combining for a 30 home runs the past two seasons put together, Santos Pina finally displayed the power that league scouts had thought was in his bat all along. Pina, 27, launched 31 home runs and 36 doubles anchoring the middle of the Hurricane lineup. The future of first base in the organization probably still belongs to prospect Sapto Djojopoespito, but Pina made a case for himself with a strong 2107 campaign.

Smith Steps Into Stardom
After the emergence of Gaudencio Brigham in 2106, it was Michael Smith's turn to shine on the mound for the Hurricanes. After a solid rookie season, Smith's sophomore campaign included a 3.41 ERA, 4.4 WAR, and 212 strikeouts which was good for second in the ABL. A first round selection 4 seasons ago, Smith put on a ace-worthy campaign and will look to build on it.

The Bad

Bullpen Woes
Florida's bullpen ranked 9th in the ABL in ERA as they struggled to maintain any lead that the starting pitching could hold. However, help is on the way with big time prospects Mike Myers and Gaustao Sardinheiro tentatively scheduled to anchor the back end of the 2108 bullpen.

Injuries
Florida saw several key players hit the disabled list throughout the season. Offseason free agent signings Patrick Bedser, Yasser Chaga, and Xie-li Kang all missed significant periods of time. Highly-touted pitching prospect Gil Soranzo also missed the last two months of the season with a partially torn labrum.

Down On The Farm
As we look to the future, the Hurricanes farm system is undoubtably their strength. 15th ranked and top pitching prospect Angelo Chavez will more than likely break into the rotation out of spring training next season, and most recent top draft pick Hector Velasquez has made quick work of the minors and is eyeing a 2108 debut. Outfield prospects Ronnie Drew and Alberto Susano had strong seasons in AA, and utility prospect Arthur McMahon excelled in A ball. Another strong draft this offseason will only benefit the Hurricanes further.

One thing I just thought of... How much of a difference do you think a DH would make to league offensive numbers? Has to be at least a small difference

I would also put my vote on figuring out what the best course of action is, and just make an executive decision. The long break is scaring me also, I do not want people to lose interest.

General WBA Discussion / Re: Odd

The even more odd thing is that if you check his personal history it doesn't show him being released. However, your idea seemed to work. I moved him down a league and he showed up, and then sent him back up and he showed up again.

General WBA Discussion / Re: Odd

Correct. He's definitely listed as part of the team when you find him through transactions, but then when you look at the roster for lineups etc. he's nowhere to be found. Could be an OOTP glitch

General WBA Discussion / Odd

Found an oddity in the game... One of my minor league guys is listed as being on my AA roster, but when you look for him in game, he is no longer there. Has this happened to anybody? Says he's still on contract, he's not injured, but he just doesn't show up. Check it out...
