Trade Blocks and Discussions / Rome Trade Block
« on: September 07, 2016, 07:11:13 AM »
The entire Rome organization is now available for trade.  Mostly I'm looking for pitching prospects but will listen to all offers.  The following players are the best I have available:

1B Juan Hernandez - He's my best player.  He's also signed for 2 more years after this one.

LF Maurilio Silveirinha - Would best be used as a 4th outfielder or to replace an injured starter.  Has good power.

http://www.worldbaseballassociation.com/reports/news/html/players/player_216.html

RF Yefu Kinoro - Also a solid 4th outfielder or replacement for an injured starter.  Does not have good power but makes solid contact.

SP Adam Maloney - Solid starting pitcher.  Signed for 2 more years after this year.

CL Kumanosuke Sato - Solid closer who can sure up a bullpen.

Cl Rubem Chaby - Good closer who is signed through next year.

Well my pitchers are certainly doing everything they can to keep league averages up this year.

I think a lot of it has to due with it being a fictional league.  It seems like with the OOTP leagues based off the real leagues there is more talent around the league and in the minors.  In this league there is only one way to add talent to the league, through the draft.  With the draft each team will get 3-4 good to great prospects but after that it starts to drop off pretty significantly.  In my opinion that is where the difference in average is coming from, the lack of depth of quality players.

Is it too early for me to throw in the towel on this season and go for the top draft pick again?

This may be fun for those of you actually winning.  As for me, I will get tired of nicknaming all of my players, "sucks shit through a straw"

In shocking new Lagos ownership has announced that they will be moving the team to Rome for the 2105 season.  The team will take on a new identity in efforts to forget their unsuccessful past and ditch the reputation of ineptitude.  Upon their move the team will be renamed the Rome Generals.  They will take up residence in the newly built Coliseum Stadium in Rome.

The mood in Lagos is pretty lethargic after the announcement.  Local citizens stormed the team's front office buildings by the thousands in an effort to help the team pack for their move.  But at the stadium it was a different story as fans gathered by the tens of people to protest the bulldozing of the field that was already taking place.  Lagos Mayor Abadom Akintola said, "The loss of the Eagles franchise will be devastating to the baseball fans in our city.  As for the other 95% of residents, they will make better use of the farmer's market that we will be constructing on the site of the old stadium."

Along with the announcement the team revealed their new logos and uniforms to be used in Rome.  They also announced that the minor league affiliates will be moving to the cities of Florence, Milan, Venice and Naples.

I worked on my rosters this morning.  My starting shortstop and second baseman are both players drafted this year.  Neither one was my first pick either.

Confirmed

Y'all can have a playoff watch party in Brisbane while Lagos goes from worst to first and wins it all.

Yes it will be a long rebuild for me.  Do you take Best Buy coupons?

So I should just give up now.  Good to know.

That sounds good to me.  The only downside I see is at the trade deadline.  People might need more time trying to work out a last minute deal.

What positions are your biggest needs?  I will be looking to make some moves at some point this offseason.
