Karachi Rebrands its Minor League Teams

by Hasan Khan, Sports Editor (Karachi Dawn)
January 12, 2107

Yasir Hameed, Director of Baseball Operations for Pakistan’s Atlas Group, announced to day that the Falcons will be rebranding all of their minor league affiliates.  All four affiliates will continue to be based in their current cities but will sport new logos and new nicknames.  Up until today all the affiliates had the same nickname and logo as the parent Karachi Falcons.

The new arrangement will allow each individual team to be more distinguishable in the local community and will differentiate it from the parent team while keeping the overall theme of teams named after birds of prey.  Some critics have suggested that the move is merely a blatant attempt to increase merchandise sales across Pakistan.  A poll, however, seems to indicate the rebranding is hugely popular, especially in the cities that host a Karachi affiliate.  New jerseys and caps to match the new branding will be forthcoming as we get closer to the start of the new season.

Here’s your first look at the new logos:

Faisalabad Falcons become the Faisalabad Hawks

Gujranwala Falcons become the Gujranwala Ospreys

Multan Falcons become the Multan Vultures

Sargodha Falcons become the Sargodha Peregrine
